Loons Discover Rule of Law

Blogger mysteriously returned this post, which had been sacrificed to the digital gods last week. I'm just going to publish it as I had originally wrote it, even though I wrote a shorter version of it a few days ago.

.....

The Loon Brigade is going through some mental gyrations over the fact that the "weak on terrorists" President actually presided over the killing of Bin Laden. They're upset that the SEALs killed Bin Laden rather than taking him prisoner.

One of the funnier things I've read from Doug in a while is this bit, where he's aghast at the notion of Obama targeting American citizen, Anwar al-Awlaki, for assassination in Yemen. I recently wrote about the attempted remote control killing of al-Awlaki that missed it's target and killed 15 other people, which the American media and citizenry don't care about.

Particularly in comments, this;

Douglas V. Gibbs said...
Bigfoot, I agree with you, but it bothers me that the president of the United States put out a call for an assassination. And this is not the first time. Remember, he also put out a call for assassination against an American citizen, Anwar al-Awlaki (also without any concern for due process . . . and in the case of al-Awlaki, that means Obama and friends are working to deny an American citizen their Constitutional right to due process).

Which, of course, is amusing because a while back, Doug wrote;

If Obama wishes to stop the growing tide of terrorism against the United States, he will quit with the "isolated extremist" comments, and recognize that the enemy is the Islamic Jihad - not because we went to war with them, but because they have committed war against the U.S., and the rest of The West. Then, Obama should haul the Nigerian crotch-bomber to Gitmo, waterboard him, and kick the living snot out of him if they have to, to get the information out of him to lead American intelligence to the Nigerian terrorist's handlers, and trainers. Then, a crack team of American Special Operations need to go to Yemen and kill the one cleric that seem to be the primary problem in the war on terror at this moment, Anwar al-Awlaki.

That's some funny shit right there, from a brain damaged Right Wing Loon, that gets his messaging from Faux News. A while back - go kill al-Awlaki! Today, DUE PROCESS!!

I really was absolutely floored to see Doug mention anything about Constitutional rights because in his fear of the islamic boogeyman, he would vest the federal government with the authority to do whatever it wanted, no matter the moral implication, in order to give the appearance that we're being kept "safe".

Of course, the Constitution of the United States actually depends on who is in the White House as far as Doug is concerned. If a Loon is President - sure, it's all good. A Democrat? That's when the rules - the actual guiding principles of the nation - change.

Our humanity demands due process, or at least something reminiscent of it. If we simply begin going around assassinating all of the bad guys because we deem it necessary, we become no better than the ideological fanaticism we have pledged to defeat.

You have got to be fucking kidding me.

One moment, the US needs to be torturing and beating prisoners, and the next, Doug says "our humanity demands due process"? What.. the... fuck?

Actually.. it's all pretty simple. The Constitution, and "due process" are just vague concepts that ebb and flow at the whim of political expediency. It was exactly the same case when a federal judge ruled parts of Obamacare violated the Constitution. Doug insisted that the judge had no authority to do such a thing, but since Obama "had to be stopped" - it was okay in that one particular case.

When a person has no morality, and cares only about politics, they can shift their view in the direction that favors their ideology. That's why Doug has no principles and is an immoral deviant, caring only about who holds office, not what they stand for. He stands for nothing really, basing every view on what would piss off liberals the most.

It's rather fun to see him constantly contradicting himself, and being completely unaware of his own past positions. He's a perfect example of the right wing in America. Once we get more of them in the national spotlight, it might finally dawn on everyone that their ideology is bankrupt and corrupt.. with the ultimate goal of destroying their religion.. all religion.. through attrition. Every day one person decides they don't need their churches or their fairy tales is a victory. The more we see the likes of Doug Gibbs and the people like him, the more will turn away from their blood soaked god.
