Tea Bag This

I tried not to write anything about the "Teabagging Parties" today but, it's just too stupid not to point out how monumentally and fundamentally stupid a lot of very dim, dull, and vapid people can be.

It's not that I feel intellectually superior because a lot of people are just so stupid I wonder how they manage to actually take a breath of air (but knowing it's an involuntary reflex).. The issue is that what they are arguing is.. based all on bullshit assumptions.. so I had to write this.

Notice the issue.. taxes and government spending.

Taxes.. as a matter of fact.. are lower now than they've been in decades.. and are getting even lower for 95% of the American public. I realize that most people want there to be no taxes and think that the government will just magically pay for everything, but again.. they are just barely literate, so they really don't count.

It's also odd that these people would prefer no government spending in conditions that mirror the lead up to the great depression. Completely missing from their argument is how they actually want to stop spending.

If they want the financial system to collapse, fine.. just say so. They're too stupid to understand the ramifications. If they want Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security to be dissolved.. fine.. just say so.. They're too stupid to understand that a lot of them will end up old, alone, sleeping in a park and dumpster diving because they don't have a regular Social Security check to fall back on.

So.. Obama wants to raise the top marginal tax rate to about 10% less than it was when Reagan was president.. and all these stupid fuckers are upset? Well, Obama isn't really "raising taxes", he's merely letting the Bush tax cuts expire.. as they were designed to do.

And then there's Doug;

This Tea Party phenomenon is a part of what may be a rising Revolution. The total disregard of the U.S. Constitution by the Obama Administration has many angry. The debt being piled into the trillions of dollars has got to stop. It is one thing for government to be disagreed with by an opposing party, but this Administration has gone too far and deserves more than just a disagreement. Such disregard for America is worth fighting for, and the fight begins on April 15th, at a Tea Party near you.

We still point and laugh.. but there is a point... and I'm still frustated at how vapid the whole discussion has become. The right doesn't really want to talk about actual policy.. they want to have these silly demonstrations of "outrage".. because policy means nothing to them. It's all about the movement.

Anyway.. the, once again, inevitably deleted comment from moi;

I actually watch a lot of cable news.. Fox News is promoting the events (whatever).. even MSNBC covers it every day.. It's far more coverage than even the massive anti-war protests got..

What's with the continual paranoia about a "Liberal media"? MSNBC is the so-called Liberal cable news channel and they're covering it.. so what, exactly, is the deal?

And why do you think Liberals are so powerful that we're not "allowing" anyone free speech? Really? Apparently there are citizens going out and doing something about tea bags, and we're mildly amused.. but really don't care. It's amazing to me that you think lefties are so powerful.

How on earth can there be these "massive rallies" while at the same time, the evil Obama and Liberals are "silencing" everyone? It's like claiming (not that you have) that I want you to shut up, when I'm begging you to never stop. In other words.. it's just weird paranoia.

LOL.. I just took a screen shot of MSNBC AGAIN reporting on this and posted it on my blog. Did you want them to make it their only story for the day? What amount of "coverage" of this would satisfy you that there isn't some weird conspiracy to silence you?

Fundamentally, you aren't saying anything. I know I sound like a broken record, and I know you are going to delete this.. because I am again going to ask you and your 172 IQ to be specific. You can't just say The debt being piled into the trillions of dollars has got to stop, because that's intellectually dishonest.

Write a post Doug.. say that you want the financial system to fail. Explain that you think it's fine the auto companies go out of business. Explain why you want Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security to go away.. as well as disability and other "Socialist" programs.

You keep typing, but you're not actually saying anything Doug.. all I hear is "get off muh lawn". Man up and put that mighty intellect to work and say what you mean.

Do it just once.. for me, buddy... Just say one single thing about actual policy one time.
