The Cup

What a weird game.. but the Ducks were clearly the better team. Can you imagine the horrible feeling of the defensemen of the Senators that put the puck in his goaltender's skate, only to see him back into his net disloging the puck into the goal? That's gotta be the flukiest goal ever scored in a finals game.

I'm happy that Brad May won a cup. He used to play for Phoenix, when I watched them religiously. He's a tough and gritty player, and it should be a nice cap to his career as it winds down. Same for Temu Salane. He's had a long and terrific career, and he might retire.

So.. now there's really only baseball to watch, but I really don't like American League ball, and I definately have no interest in the Rangers... ugh.

I used to be really into hockey, before the strike. I even played some club hockey in college. But the last few years I just haven't been able to get into it.

I think it's because it's irrelevent. Part of my enjoyment of sports is not only watching the games, but also hearing the analysts on the radio/TV talk about the games. And well... noone talks about hockey anymore. :(

I have interest in the Rangers... mostly an interest in watching them lose since they're in the AL West with the Mariners. :) Who btw, arn't having that horrible of a season so far.

I like baseball but there has to be some identity to the team for me to get into it. I had season tickets to the Diamondbacks from when they started through winning the world series. Watching Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling, Luis Gonzales, Matt Williams, Jay Bell, Mark McGwire, and Steve Finley. It was just great. I can't name one player on the Rangers.. mostly because I haven't bothered.

Holy cow.. Finley is 42 years old and playing for the Rockies this seaons.

Yeah I agree you have to have an identity with a team that you follow.

And yeah, why would you follow the rangers, they're awful :) Although the Mariners haven't been great the last few years and I still muster up some interest each summer. :)

I could probably name all the players on the Mariners save a few relievers, and that helps.

Only a few months until football though, then college bball will follow.

The Diamondbacks are 11 for 12 right now and kicking some serious ass. Made Barry Bonds team look like fools. Of course we have Randy Johnson back so that helps. I still miss the team of old. Kinda like the old Suns Players of the early 90's. You vary rarely see that kind of group that can work together and mesh really well.

I liked the Mariners, but they need some real star power. Ichiro is good, but he isn't great. He'll get on base, but that's it.

And as far as the NHL goes, I'd have liked to see a better game.
