Lots of whoppers

The 370 yen ($3.05) Whopper, and even the more expensive 600 yen ($5) Double Whopper with cheese and bacon, are expected to fare better this time around because of a new trend among Japanese to favor pricier, high-calorie meals.

McDonald's 350 yen ($2.90) MegaMac, with four beef patties, has proved a hit. The first Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. store in Japan, which opened in December, is still drawing long lines.

Miami-based Burger King is banking on the recent hunger here for greasy and sweet food, and a move away from the healthy, traditional fish-and-rice centered diet.
We can't export democracy, but we can sure as hell fatten up an entire nation. I'm not complaining mind you, but it seems to me that the sumo wrestling is going to get a lot more competitive. I'd much rather watch that then American League baseball.

Speaking of baseball.. Yesterday I mentioned Curt Schilling.. and last night he came within one out of getting his first no-hitter. Can you imagine how shitty that is? He only needed one more out, and some goof lined one into the outfield.

I simply cannot fathom what it would be like to pitch in the majors for years, and now come within 1 out of a no-hitter and then fuck it up.
