Can't stop her

So says her husband, Bill.

The really bizarre thing about this is that the Republican party operative that is organizing the "Stop Hillary" campaign is gay and just married his partner in Massachusetts last weekend.

Say what?

Yes, it's true. Republican's officially hate gay people and want to write that hatred into the Constitution. They don't allow the lesbian daughter of the Vice President of the United States to appear with her family at the Republican National Convention. They spawned anti-gay legislation throughout the country. The list is endless..

And now this highly powerful and influential Republican actually gets married to his male partner. I find the whole business bizarre beyond words.

Leave it to Bill Clinton to be so sublime in noting that.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Former President Bill Clinton took aim on Monday at a powerful political opponent of his wife Sen. Hillary Clinton, saying a surge of "Stop Hillary" efforts "can't stop her."

Clinton called one of the leaders of the movement, New York powerbroker Arthur Finkelstein "sad," after reports over the weekend that the Republican consultant married his gay lover.

"Either this guy believes his party is not serious and is totally Machiavellian in his position or there's some sort of self-loathing there," Clinton said. "I was more sad for him.

The New York Times reported on Saturday that Finkelstein, who has worked to elect strongly conservative Republican politicians, married his male partner in a civil ceremony in Massachusetts in December. The Republican Party opposes same-sex marriages.

Hillary Clinton, a Democrat from New York, faces re-election next year, and many believe she will make a run for the U.S. presidency in 2008.

Clinton added that he wasn't worried about the "Stop Hillary" campaign, which includes direct mail and Internet-based fund-raising efforts.

Republicans say Finkelstein, a long-time ally of New York's Republican Gov. George Pataki, is a key force behind the "Stop Her Now" anti-Clinton campaign and moving behind the scenes to help raise money. Finkelstein rarely speaks to the press.

The former president said his wife has worked hard as senator, especially in strongly Republican areas in upstate and western New York.

"She's been great and he can't stop her," Clinton said.

Clinton made his remarks at his New York office where he announced his foundation was donating $10 million toward treating children with AIDS in rural Africa.
Somewhere there is a President asking his press secretary what "Machiavellian" means..

I'm not sure if your comment is intended to be humorous or not.

There is a vast right-wing conspiracy, and Hillary is right, it's now a radical right-wing conspiracy. They pass laws in Congress for individuals, and threaten judges with death. It's become very radical where before it was just "vast". LOL

I posted last week about a new book called the Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy. It's nice that they are noticing we're more organized now.

All of those bills, except one, are merely related to immigration. The one non-immigration bill simply directs the VA to pay a vet the money they owe him. None of the bills have actually passed congress by the way.

Technically - you are correct. I should have been more clear. Schiavo was unique in the nature of the legislation.

"I'm a radical! I'm a real extremist. I don't want to impeach judges. I want to impale them!" - Senator Tom Coburn R-OK

Okay.. so I extrapolate that a desire to impale somebody is the same as threatening them with death. Duh..
