It's rather unfortunate that the start of the NFL season co-insides with the the 10th "anniversary" of the the 9/11 attacks. It was a horrible event, to be sure. Catastrophic in many ways.. but people have this weird habit of turning these things into some sort of celebration. It's as if they get off on the emotion and drama of the whole thing.
What 9/11 brought was nothing short of mountainous ruin for many nations and people, including the US. It brought us never ending wars, a police state, and paranoia.
For some Muslim countries, it brought a rain of freedom bombs.. and mountains of dead bodies.
It's not something that should be celebrated.. nor is it scab that needs to be picked off to reveal a fresh wound at every opportunity. After all.. Bin Laden got what he wanted. He got us to destroy ourselves.
The emo-orgy on Sunday is going to be ridiculous.. but fortunately I always record the football games so I can fast-forward to the kick off, and skip the half time show. I already know what happened on 9/11. I get no pleasure in trying to reenact it for a television audience.
The very best part about 9/11 though, for the Loon Brigade, is that they'll get to go into the vapors over how much Liberals hate America and are on the side of the muslims. They use atrocities to try and score political points.. because.. they are scum bags.
