Sports is Srs Biz

MARANA, Ariz. – Tiger Woods will speak publicly Friday for the first time since his bizarre, Thanksgiving night car accident, beginning what his agent called "the process of making amends" for the sex scandal that sent him into hiding for three months.

That anybody cares is an indictment of our society. The guy is a dick. He should either play golf, or not.. and nobody should give a fuck. I suppose there's a bit of the car accident rubber-necking going on, but taking more than a quick glance and turning away in revulsion is pathetic.

JUPITER, Fla. – Mark McGwire's first day on the job began with a wrong turn into the media room instead of the spring training clubhouse. It ended with another apology for steroid use.

Strange that his statistics have not been erased from baseball's record books. He seems like a nice enough guy, but his demeanor is irrelevant. He cheated, he made millions doing it, and his willingness to cheat hurt other people.

Pete Rose places a bet.. life time ban. McGwire cheats on the playing field, and gets a coaching job. At least what Rose did on the field was honest. Baseball is making a joke of itself.

Of course the problem of steroids remains.. but it's not really steroids. The players are still freaks of nature. They just use other chemicals to achieve the same effect as steroids. In that sense, you could say that McGwire was a pioneer, and since every player from now on will be "cheating", in a sense, then they should just allow any chemicals anyone wants to use and just realize that it's not really skill, but better hitting through chemistry.

McGwire has a restaurant here in Dallas. It's awful.

I think its very selfish and transparent why McGwire finally came forward and admitted his steroid use. Does any really believe his claims that steroids didnt improve his performance?
