Since when is health insurance a right? I'm fairly sure the General Welfare Clause in the Constitution does not cover health insurance and anyone who says it does is just simply lying or is just unable to read because of sheer stupidity. - Terry "I swear it wasn't a felony" Williams
Since 1965 you stupid fuck. It's called "Medicare".
....
What I find particularly amusing is when dull normal, completely unaccomplished people like Terry, throw around the word "stupid". Never mind that he's never achieved a thing.. has no education.. no real profession.. nothing.. It's almost comical the way they use that word in the same paragraph where they make a completely absurd claim.
The fact is, the words "General Welfare" in Article I, Section 8, Clause 1 of the United States Constitution, were intentionally worded that way to provide Congress the ability to determine what issues rise to a common cause for all Americans.
The check on the power of Congress is the United States Supreme Court. The courts have ruled on the scope of that clause. That is why we have Social Security, and Medicare, two highly popular and successful government programs. The United States Interstate Highway System, which was an act of Congress signed by President Eisenhower, fit the criteria of "general welfare" as well.
There are many such acts of Congress that fit that theme.
Terry, and the Loon Brigade, are simply too stupid to understand that's how it works in the United States. It's sad really.
But then.. Terry isn't competing for my job.. and there's a reason for that.
