Prefacing this comment.. that the acts on September 11, 2001 was a horrific act of terrorism. If you want remembrances of it, it's all over the tv.
What I don't get is why it's become a yearly ritual of reliving the horrors.
Bin Laden got exactly what he wanted. We launched two wars.. killed hundreds of thousands of human beings in retribution, and accomplished nothing. The killing that the Islamic assholes started 8 years ago contiues to this day.
Every year the right wing uses the anniversary of the attacks to renew the enthusiasm for more death and destruction, as if that is going to change the culture that fostered the attack in the first place.
This is why I advocate a draft and massive escalation of the wars. Too many people view it all from a distance. It doesn't affect them. A draft might start Americans questioning what we're doing killing and dying in never ending pointless wars.
Meanwhile on my teevee, friends and families are once again mourning the death of their loved ones. It will never end for them..
