Misc
We're thinking of getting a new dog. I'm allergic, so we're looking at something that is more hypoallergenic... a poodle cross breed. The pic is a silver frosted English goldendoodle.... golden retriever poodle mix. I think it's a really cool looking dog, and they are very energetic and smart.
We'll have to go out of state.. maybe even to Canada to find one, and they're expensive as hell.. but I think it would make a really awesome addition.. maybe get another in a different color to go along with it.
The Australian doodles are also very fine dogs, but the silverish color doesn't seem to be in their line, and the features a bit different...

My MD buddy says he's swamped with "swine flu" paranoia.. where every sniffle means certain death.
Know how many people in the US die each year from the garden variety flu? 38,000
Know how many have died from "swine flu"? So far.. 1.. that I'm aware of.
John went to a car dealer today to look at a new truck for the company, and two customers were wearing medical masks.
People are stupid... and the media is stupid for freaking everyone out.

Chaquita started today.. and did a nice job. John likes her a lot. I know I sometimes sound snobby about that sort of thing, but it's more a put-on than serious. Neither one of us ever expected we'd be able to afford a maid.. actually more than a maid, a cook and personal shopper, organizer, assistant type thing.
I tell you what.. it does not suck never having to do any domestic chores at all.

We're having dinner tonight with one of John's friends who lost her husband of some years a few months ago. The last time we had dinner with her, she was naturally very upset, so we did our best to make her laugh and think about other stuff. It sounds like she's doing much better now, but she's still crazy. Come to think of it, pretty much all of our friends are crazy in one way or another. Our MD friend is brilliant but has a weird social affect that makes it hard for him to be natural and relaxed around other people.. I know.. strange for a guy that sees many patients every day, but that's different. That's work.. in his comfort zone.
A few weeks ago I had the best steak I've ever had. It was a Kobe New York strip. I'm more of a filet man, but that steak was just unreal. The flavor was like nothing I've ever had, and the texture just awesome. We split an Australian lobster tail to go with it.. where they do the work of removing the shell and all that, so all you get is the choice meat. The Australian lobsters are the best in the world. They have a sweet twist to them, and with just a dash of the butter, they will make you jizz your pants when you take a bite. Pair that up with a nice Napa Pinot Noir, and it's heaven.. really.
Late Friday afternoon is the best part of the week, because the weekends are fantastic and it's all just ahead.
Hope ya'll have great weekends as well.

Have a great one Tom!
In just over a weeks time I hope to be trying some authentic Kobe Beef, in Kobe, Japan. Prepared by some crazy master chef. From what I've read, the damn cows live better than I do - (until they die to feed me) - hand fed the finest grass, grains and beer as well as massaged daily. Mmmm.
I'm fairly intent on trying the Fugu (blowfish) on my trip as well.
I wonder if my travel insurance covers things I subject myself to recklessly..?
