I used to really dislike hip-hop music.. for years.. and years.. and years.. but the last 5 years or so, there's been some really good stuff. Not just mindless talking over a beat.. but actual music.. mostly fused with R&B and genuinely good vocal performances.
And then there's Eminem.. and I really get a kick out of Slim Shady. The songs are very catchy.. funny.. biting.. and relevant.
As an old metal head that really hated the likes of LL Cool J and the stupid rap style he reprensented, I have to give props to a lot of the more recent stuff.. including Kanye West. I don't care to know a thing about the guy personally, but I kind of like that vocal style and smooth musical styles behind it.
