Not Only Stupid

But completely dishonest... promoting Douggy to the main page here because this is so eggregious... (I know.. this should be on Douggie watch.. really.. but hard to resist)

The issue.. public support for Obama's "stimulus" plan. Douggie sez;

Rick, actually, that number according to what I have, is that 31% support it (or disagree that the bill will hinder economic recovery) http://news.prnewswire.com/ViewC...04969124& EDATE=

I can't find the actual polling data or source, because there are no links to it, but of course.. the first paragraph of the poll he references says;

90 Percent of Republicans and 60 Percent of Independents Oppose Obama Economic Recovery Plan

That's polling ONLY of Republicans and so-called Independents, and the wording of the questions are more like push polling than an actual sample of opinion.

New polling from Gallup, irrespective of political identity, shows a much larger support.

The Gallup Organization released a poll Monday showing Obama's approval rating holding steady at 67 percent, with Congress much less popular. Republicans in Congress drew only 31 percent approval, and Democrats had 48 percent. The poll also showed that 80 percent think it's either important or critically important that a stimulus plan be approved.

.......

Next, Douggie posts the following tracking data from Rasmussen;

That's an index of "strongly approve" versus "strongly disapprove".. and..

Holy cow.. a 5 point swing since he entered office.. OMG!!~!

Think it might be the "halo effect"? Of course Obama is going to drop a few points after actually taking office.

Here you go.. same report from Rasmussen.. showing the tracking information.

Look at the column that says "total approve", and the number 60% next to it.

Heck, I'm thrilled Doug actually referenced something.. and posted a link. Problem is.. he didn't actually look at the data.

He's getting warmer though. The more he actually links and quotes, the easier it is to make him look stupid.

Oh I know.. not terribly hard to do to begin with.

Actual headline from one of Doug's posts;

From Pick-Pockets to Dictators: Big Government Becoming A Tyranny

George Bush, and the Republican Congress increased Federal Spending at the highest pace in history. They added more debt than every previous President.. combined... and that excludes military spending!

And not a word from Doug or the Loon Brigade.. none.. nada.. zip. And now they're all uptight about "big government"? Really?

/update

Yes, Joe.. you have no idea what you're talking about..

And that goes for Rick
And Doug
And the rest of the Loon Brigade
