Smells Like Victory

President Obama signed into a law the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. This closes the gap in pay between equally qualified and experienced men and women. It forces business to treat employees in a gender neutral way in compensation.

In 2007, the wage gap was 22%. This, of course, means that if you ware a woman, on average, you make 22% less than your male contemporaries.

Not surprisingly, Conservatives, including Doug Gibss, think this is a bad policy.

I'll quote from Republican Rep, Tom McClintock.

"I believe it hurts the cause of equality, and opportunity in the work place, by making it more difficult for the people who need jobs and who most want those jobs to actually get them".

Get that? Because business is required to pay women equally, it hurts equality, and causes people to be unable to get jobs.. presumably because an employer would be able to afford more employees by paying women less, which is good for everyone.. right?

Why do they believe that is true? Because they are scum bags.. devoid of any sense of fairness or humanity... and they ram their heads up Jesus' ass and pretend that they have any sense of morality what-so-ever.

These are vile people and we are well and truly lucky that they no longer have any influence on national policy.

If women received the same wages as men who work the same number of hours, have the same education and union status, are the same age, and live in the same region of the country, then these women's annual income would rise by $4,000 and poverty rates would be cut in half. Working families would gain an astounding $200 billion in family income annually.


Women are paid less in every occupational classification for which sufficient information is available, according to the data analysis in over 300 job classifications provided by the U.S. Department of Labor Statistics.

Republicans think it should be that way. Less equality.. and more poverty.. because they are vile misogynistic assholes.

You know the worse part? Some people actually vote for them. Stupid fucks.

I'm the youngest of six. The other 5 are all women. If Doug actually had the balls to say that to one of my sisters, they'd probably kick his ass.. which wouldn't be that difficult for them to do I don't imagine. The misogynistic ones are usually total pussies.
