Denied

Richard Pryor once famously said.. if you go looking for justice, that's what you find.. just us.

Greenwald is on a tear, out raged because the news media employs "analysts" with a financial incentive for the United States to wage war.

He's upset that the chattering class is now trying to re-write the last 8 years of their lives, now that a new sheriff is coming to town.

Bullshit wars.. bank "bail outs".. torture.. the list goes on and on. Vast sums of money simply vanish, "redistributed" to whoever they saw fit. It's why I get a nice giggle out of the "punish the successful" screeds from Teh Loons.

You can see Greenwald is incensed that the corruption is so patently transparent, and absolutely nothing will come as a result. There will be no media sacrifices to the Gods to appease their anger. There will be no corporate CEO's going to jail. That only happens when they rip off people outside the accepted system of government.

There simply is no consequence. We have a new administration coming in, and everyone (who is guilty) are already clamoring for "bye-gones" to be bye-gones. Zero accountability.

That fucking asshole Doug gets bent about the supposed "moral decay" of a Hollywood movie - but he's too fucking stupid to see the big picture... to see the real moral decline.. of mountains of money built on piles of dead bodies... with zero consequences.

They've pulled it off.. the biggest heists in history.. the biggest mass slaughter since WWII.. the largest disgrace of the news media industry.

What we're left with is this nice distraction of an imploding economy. It's not Just Us. It's Just Them. Nobody will be held to account.

...

•Since President Bush took office, the government has doubled the amount of contracts with industry. The administration paid corporations more than $400 billion last year to work for everybody from the Forest Service to the CIA.

•The administration has given the majority of that contract money to companies that didn't have to compete to get it — or faced only limited competition.

•There are actually more contractors handling the war in Iraq than American troops.

All these figures come from government reports. And for the most part, these contractors aren't the ones making Humvees or computer systems or other kinds of products. The administration is paying most of the contract money to corporations to perform the kinds of services that federal employees normally do. And the administration has done all this with almost no public debate.
The reason why they can do this is that it does not appear to be theft. They aren't reaching directly into your pocket to take money. At least it doesn't appear that way.

All of the corruption and wealth shifting looks as if it's done with "magic money". I call "magic money" the stuff they fund wars with, or give billions away to Corporations. It's not my money. It's not yours. It's simply a thing that they call money and give to somebody else.

How do you make it? You create it in a computer.. because the vast majority of wealth in the world is not real wealth.. it's just recorded wealth.. ones and zeroes on a computer hard drive.

Just as the housing bubble burst.. the banking bubble.. so will the "not real money" bubble burst.. where wealth will again be defined by actual things, not by binary logic in a CPU.
