Wrong On This

It's here!! It's here!!!

A day early and it has arrived!!!

I'm talking, of course, about the May residential new construction numbers from the Fed.

In case you don't follow this blog religiously (har).. Doug had posted a claim that he's all busy at work, and construction is making a resounding come-back.. and so on.. and so forth. So.. I had gone to get the actual statistics, which showed that what Doug was observing in his little corner of the world was, at best, not representative of the larger over-all construction industry.

In other words.. I said he was full of shit.. proved he was full of shit.. and he just kept on with it.. I had left it at this point, waiting to see what the numbers for May would be, and today they are available!

Here's the last comment Doug had left.

it was posted the last day of april and I was also talking about the upcoming schedule - - - you are just looking to disagree - you can't stand that you are wrong on this. And remember, I am in the industry, you are not, and you are supposed to be the bigger expert? Asinine.
I don't claim to be an "expert" Doug. I don't just pull facts out of my ass and present them as if they are true. I do things... like.. go look for the actual statistics and references to support my claim. It had absolutely nothing to do with "looking to disagree", and everything to do with actually citing valid sources and making truthful factual assertions.

That is something you feel no need to do... after all, facts have a well known Liberal bias.. right?

So, what are the actual numbers? In my previous post, I demonstrated the new construction in the historical context. The Fed has adjusted April down slightly from 1,032 (units in thousands) to 1,008. And May? The month where Doug is seeing all this explosive growth, and the economy is turning around.. and yadda yadda yadda..

975

It's actually down from April, and honestly I had expected a slight up-tick.

It boggles the mind how you can be so certain that you are "right" and I am "wrong", when you lack any shred of evidence.. and at this point are completely lacking in credibility. It's not a competition of right and wrong.. it's about Doug lacking any sort of substance at all.. and being wrong.. over and over and over.

Then he calls me "asinine".

The Fed also does a "press release" to accompany the new statistics. You can read this month's here.

Privately-owned housing units authorized by building permits in May were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 969,000. This is 1.3 percent (±1.2%) below the revised April rate of 982,000 and is 36.3 percent (±1.3%) below the revised May 2007 estimate of 1,522,000.
If you bother to read the press release, you'll see the word "below" a lot.

But in the land of the Great American Right Wing Loon, I am "wrong" anyway.. and I'm "asinine" and I'm just "looking to disagree".

I "just can't stand that I am wrong on this".

You should to just stick to the "git off muh lawn" posts Doug.
