And what are most of the questions about? Godlessness. Some people seem confused and even angry about the fact that I do not promote compromise with religion, even when I'm trying to promote tactics that are orthogonal to religious belief, and that if I'm asked about religion, I'm completely honest about the fact that it is indefensible bullshit. - PZ MyersThere is a tendency for people.. most people probably.. to look at two sides of an issue and argue that the "middle" is the proper position... while totally ignoring that one side or the other is correct, and the other is bullshit.
That is where "civil unions" come from.
I think they do it as the lazy route.. because it's easier to get everyone to the 50 yard line then it is to get one team to the goal line.

Bonus Quote;
"It makes me feel bad to think god might not exist,Call that, The Jennifer Argument for the existence of God.
it makes me feel good to think god exists,
I like feeling good,
therefore god exists."

It truly is all about the emo.. and the oddest thing of all.. out of all the lunacy that you can find in any religious text, and any religious institution, or anybody that sits down to pray to an invisible man on the cloud that they think is listening to them.. is that they actually think it's a virtue to suspend all reason, and simply "believe".. because somehow they feel changed by the belief, and surely it had to come from God.
That's why Jennifer feels bad for people who do not believe in a participatory god. There's something wrong with the rest of us who do not need to delude ourselves in order to feel alive.
And then they wonder why we mock them. It's a mad mad mad mad world.
