Pastafarians Win!
This is not a joke..
The Cumberland County Courthouse lawn in Crossville, Tennessee now features an enormous statue of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
On her blog, Jennifer asked why a Christian valedictorian of a public school couldn't give a religious speech. After all, that student earned the right to give the commencement speech. My response was that they'd be a little put-off if said student were a Satanist and wanted to give a really evil speech.
On a larger scale, a religious group sued to include a monument of the 10 commandments at the courthouse. Pastafarians (followers of the Flying Spaghetti Monster) sued to include a religious symbol of their faith as well.
The FSM monument has been installed at the courthouse, legally, in all it's meatball and noodely goodness.
And this is reason #23,421 why you should keep your religion out of public life.. lest other people force you to deal with theirs.

What if science could prove you have no free will? Some would argue that they have done that.
It doesn't make much difference to me either way, but I wonder if the religious people will simply go insane?
If you're religious, your entire being is wrapped up in the idea that there are consequences for actions.. and those actions are a result of what you choose to do. You can be a saint, or a sinner. "God" rewards you accordingly.
I'm not saying that one study totally debunks free will - though some might say it does. But, as a thought exercise.. what if they could prove it beyond any measure of doubt? Would religious people refuse to accept that truth, because it's just simply impossible?
