Elite

Doesn't elite mean 'good?' Is that not something we're looking for in a president anymore? ... I know elite is a bad word in politics. You want to go bowling and throw back a few beers. But the job you're applying for---if you get it and it goes well---they might carve your head into a mountain. If you don't actually think you're better than us, then what the fuck are you doing? ... [N]ot only do I want an elite president, I want someone who is embarrassingly superior to me."
---Jon Stewart
Most Americans are only of average I.Q. you know.. by definition that is 100 (technically "average" is 80-114). Average I.Q. is around 98 in the US.. and that's really not very bright.. and average people tend to be resentful and distrusting of hyper-smart people. That's why it's better to tone down the intellect, depending on the crowd.

So.. you have John McMaverick The Straight Shooter.. the rugged fighter jock of the people.. and you have the elite educated, ridiculously intelligent and articulate Obama... and it's going to be hard to get Cleetus to vote for him.

Maybe call it the Bush effect.. You run a candidate with about a 110 IQ, so he seems smarter than the 100's, even have him frequently stumble over 4th grade vocabulary words.. have him clear some brush.. and BAM.. he's your new President of the United States.

How about we have a voter qualification exam? For the good of us all, there should be some minimum qualifications to being able to cast a vote.

... just an idea.

I'm going to post the ranking of states by I.Q., and the candidate the majority voted for in the last presidential election. Blogger likes to take out the spaces, so it's not nice and neat.. but the source is here.

You'll probably notice that the top ranked states are all Democratic, blue, liberal states..

The point doesn't get made very often, but by virtually every measure, the blue states are superior to the red states. I wonder how anyone could possibly argue that somehow "Conservatism" is a better ideology than Liberalism? I wonder if the degree of religion is a factor? I wonder.. does religion make people dumber.. or does religion thrive better where people are dumber?

I report.. you decide..
