The author of that piece is also the author of the articles, "Freedom of Speech For Everyone Except The Clergy," and "I don't support Obama Because of my Faith & Not Because of His Race." His book Unfounded Loyalty answers the question: Why are most blacks in America Democrats? despite the fact that for over 150 years, blacks were victims of terrorist attacks by the Democrats and their Klan supporters, including lynchings, beatings, rapes and mutilations; on the issue of slavery, the Democrats literally gave their lives to expand it - the Republicans gave their lives to ban it; and how many believed the Democrats had a change of heart and fell in love with blacks. To the contrary, history reveals the democrats didn't fall in love with black folks, they fell in love with the black vote knowing this would be their ticket into the white house. To believe Doug is to believe the demographics of political identity never changes over time.

I can't stress this point enough. Either Doug is completely ignorant, or he is intentionally ignoring it in order to make a vile accusation.

Inject common sense into what Doug is saying.

Where is racism in the United States centered? It's in the South.. obviously.. the "Bible Belt". During the time of slavery and Jim Crow, the Bible belt was predominately Democrat in identification. They were known as "Dixie-crats" actually.

Which political party dominates that geography now? Obviously the Republican party.

So, why the switch? Because the ideology of the Democratic party did not sit with the Dixie-crats. The Republicans courted the Southern evangelical vote, which has it's history planted squarely in Slavery.

So.. Doug can claim that the Democratic party is fundamentally racist.. but can you guess which party Klansmen vote for now?

And this is reason #49,425 why Doug is an ignorant or lying sack of shit.
