What now??? !!! you may ask.
Doug is effusive over.. get this.. Thomas Paine..
The first steps of liberty began in a Colonial America dominated by divided alliances, and revolutionary writings like Thomas Paine's Common Sense. Paine, through his writings, persuaded these conflicting characteristics into the most exceptional nation ever to be founded in history.Thomas Paine being of course;
Thomas Paine (Thetford, England, 29 January 1737 – 8 June 1809, New York City, U.S.) was an English pamphleteer, revolutionary, radical, classical liberal and intellectual. Born in Great Britain, he lived and worked there until the age of 37, when he migrated to the American colonies just in time to take part in the American Revolution. His main contribution was as the author of the powerful, widely read pamphlet, Common Sense (1776), advocating independence for the American Colonies from the Kingdom of Great Britain, and of The American Crisis, supporting the Revolution.It's just funny as fuck that Doug constantly rips on liberals.. and apparently doesn't even realize that Paine was one of those non-Christian liberal "founders".
Oh yes..
Paine was arrested in Paris and imprisoned in December 1793; he was released in 1794. He became notorious with his book, The Age of Reason (1793-94), which advocated deism and took issue with Christian doctrines. While in France, he also wrote a pamphlet titled Agrarian Justice (1795), which discussed the origins of property and introduced a concept that is similar to a guaranteed minimum income.A Deist that thought Christianity was dangerous.. like Thomas Jefferson and other "founders".. and apparently a "socialist" that advocated a "minimum income"??
And Doug thinks Paine a great American.. because all he knows about him is that he pushed for war.. and anybody that pushes for a war is A-Okay! in Doug's world.
I swear to Gorak, this is the funniest shit.

Thomas Paine was known for his anti-religious attitude on a personal scale, but defended the freedom of religion as intended by the other founding fathers.
Please, jerk, don't assume what I know and don't know. . . your mischaracterizations of me is becoming tiresome.
I just thought it was amusing you bag on liberals non-stop.. yet highlighted one on your blog..
And ya.. "freedom of religion".. otherwise known as the seperation of church and state.. is a nice thing.
I "mischaracterize" you? What? By quoting and linking your own words? That's really fucking funny seeing how you do nothing but attack straw men..
I wonder if I should ban you from my blog.. you're getting all disruptive and shit.. hmmmm
