Missing the Point

Somebody left an amusing comment to my post yesterday... Whoever this person is needs to learn to use dictionary.com because they have a very skewed view of a few basic terms.

You give Homos a Bad Name said...
Ahh, so good to see the true side of a "progressive" displaying all of his/her/its intolerant hypocrisy.

Since it's perfectly all right for you and your pillow-biting pals to sit around whispering sweet-nothings of rabid intolerance to each other during dinner in a public restaurant, I'm sure you'd have no problem when the couple across from you whisper to one another what a couple of flaming faggots you are.

Go back to sucking on Rosie O'Quaeda's genitalia (who knows if it's a cock or a cunt?), since you obviously love to mimic her "ching-chong" Asian bashing slurs.
My post was in no way "intolerant". Beside that I was writing something rather tongue-in-cheek, this is the definition of the word;

1. not tolerating or respecting beliefs, opinions, usages, manners, etc., different from one's own, as in political or religious matters; bigoted.
2. unable or unwilling to tolerate or endure (usually fol. by of): intolerant of very hot weather.

We certainly did "endure" the company of the folks from Garland. People are what they are, and I make no moral qualification about them. I simply observed how people are generally products of their environment, and after a while you can spot traits that are common in discreet groups of people. Were they obviously blue collar rednecks? You bet. Where they nice enough people? Sure. We even chit-chatted a bit and it was all amicable.

Note; not all blue collar types are rednecks. These people were. It was simply an observation.

If they were snickering about the fags on the other side of the table, I really don't give a shit. People think what they want to think, and it makes absolutely no difference to me what somebody else thinks. I do, however, have a problem with people who would restrict civil rights of groups based on some arbitrary condition such as race, gender, or sexual orientation.

Unfortunately, the person who left the comment is too stupid to understand the distinction. I was not being hypocritical in the least. I have very strong viewpoints of certain types of people, notably religious freaks, but that's simply a personal opinion. Everyone has them, and it's silly to think that everyone is supposed to have a neutral opinion of every other type of person in the world.

I wasn't even "bashing" or using Asian "slurs". It was simply slightly un-politically correct humor. Again, I wouldn't give a shit if Wang Chung went back to the kitchen to giggle with his buddies about the butt pirates he just cooked dinner for. He did his job and made a tasty meal (which I mentioned), and that's all I expected.. and I even complimented Asians as being hyper-competitive people.. I didn't set out to compliment Asians in that way. It was simply an observation.

To sum up, the person who left that comment does not posses the mental facilities to understand subtle distinctions, and has a completely mis-informed idea of my sense of bigotry. I don't make any moral judgement on his/her/its stupidity, and lack of vocabulary. It's simply an observation.
