Honestly, this situation is pretty shocking, but no surprise. This is a blatant example of the indoctrination that our children go through in the public school system. Fact is, the U.S. Constitution not only requires that the government be neutral toward religion (of which this teacher is clearly in violation of), but also the U.S. Constitution requires that government shall not prohibit the free exercise of religion thereof. So, anytime a student is denied his or her individual right to express his or her religious beliefs in a school setting the school is also in violation of the U.S. Constitution.I like how Doug uses the phrase "fact is" as if he's stating a fact. Clearly the United States government disagrees, but Doug has the "facts" on his side. It reminds me of his bat-shit crazy "Constitutional expert", Loki, who kept insisting that the Constitution meant one thing, while the Supreme Court has been doing the exact opposite for years.
In other words, Doug and Loki are right, and the entire United States of America is wrong. I swear to god, you can't make this shit up. They actually think that.
That said, I think public school would be a much more interesting place if Doug got his way. Wouldn't it be awesome? The school would not be permitted to criticize Christianity in any way, and would not be allowed to restrict the student's Christian customs and practices.
And the first thing I would do.. is get a bunch of high school kids, and plan a bit of fun. We'd all become Satanists.. and dress them in hard core goth, with plenty of goat blood stains.. then have them recite verses from the Satanic Bible in class.. after the Christian kids finish theirs of course.. The Satan kids would mock the Christian kids, and incite the usual sort of behavior that happens when someones bat-shit crazy belief is challenged.
In other words, it would be glorious mayhem, and the Christians that were so quick to claim their oppression before would be desperate to go back to the way things used to be.
The moral (har) of the story is.. be as crazy as you want to be. I don't give a fuck.. but keep you're nutzoid evolution denying, man dates back 6000 years, insanity away from people who don't want to hear it. You got your churches on every fucking corner.. and you got your cultist Christian freaks that think just exactly as you do. Stick with those people.. because if you push even more, we'll push back harder.. and ram Satan down your throat just as you're trying to ram Jesus down ours.
The fact is (as the loon likes to say), the Jesus myth is just a continuation of many Messianic figures throughout mankind's history. It's the same story getting told over and over again.

I think to some degree Doug is correct. He references again how some school districts are banning certain religious themed t-shirts, necklaces etc.
I'm all for a certain level of a "dress code" for our public schools, nothing too revealing, no profanities or nudity, etc. But ffs, if you want to wear a shirt that has a picture of jesus or muhammed on it, or that says Merry Christmas who the fuck cares.
Chad said of his teacher, "He's against Christianity and bashes it all the time. He's been indoctrinating us and not teaching the class; we don't need to be hearing his political views during school time when we should be learning."
As for this teacher, I think the kid is right. He shouldn't be preaching to the kids about his political or religious views, he should be teaching the class.
I wouldn't go so far as to say he's breaking any laws, but if I was the school employing him I'd have some issues with the way he was teaching and want him to tone it down some, or if he wont, can him and get a teacher in there that can actually teach the students.
Steve.
