Now, because of this elimination of the death penalty in New Jersey, Jesse Timmendequas will be allowed to continue to live, living peacefully on the taxpayer's dime in prison. And, I have a feeling that his dog and pony act in prison will eventually lead to his release. I don't know about you, but I don't want that scumbag on the streets again, and society would be much safer if he was just removed from society.You, you lying asshole, make me sick.
New Jersey lawmakers, apparently, disagree.
If your child, your sweet little girl, was molested and killed by a sicko like Jesse Timmendequas do you think that life in prison is an adequate punishment? Should such a person be allowed to live so that they can strike again? Doesn't eliminating the death penalty also take away one of the deterrents for such a crime?
Makes me sick.
What part of "life without the possibility of parole" do you not understand?
Countries with the death penalty;
Afghanistan, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belarus, Belize, Botswana, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, China, Comoros, Congo, Cuba, Dominica,Egypt,Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Guatemala, Guinea, Guyana, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, North Korea, South Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Lesotho, Libya, Malawi, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestinian Authority, Qatar, Rwanda, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Somalia, Sudan, Swaziland, Syria, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United States, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
Countries that banned the death penalty;
Every civilized western democracy.
That said, I like how Doug phrases his argument to imply that "New Jersey lawmakers disagree", meaning that they want to go easy on a convicted killer, and seek to release him back into society as soon as possible so that he can kill again.
Yes - in Doug's world of psychotic reality, those opposed to the death penalty are actually in support of killing your children.
The death penalty is also NOT a deterrent. That seems obvious. Lots of people were killed in the United States last year. In fact, far more than any nation that does NOT have the death penalty. Therefore, simple logic (which of course alludes really fucking stupid people like Doug) would suggest that a society that does not kill people as a method of punishment sends a signal to their people that killing is wrong.
I also find it odd how it becomes such an emotional issue for the loon brigade. They fixate on the horrible acts visited on minors, as if it's okay a middle aged guy is killed. To me, the tragedy of violent crime is the same, regardless who the victim is, but that doesn't mean that killing another person in retribution is the moral thing to do.
I never like to wish ill on anyone, but when the topic of the death penalty comes up, I often wonder what their point of view would be if their own son or daughter sat on death row, days away from being executed, after having been falsely accused and convicted.
I wonder how they would feel if they were in that situation themselves. You can't dig up a dead body, apologize and set them free.
/update
I don't believe the Death Penalty should be applied to all murderers, but sickos like the man I mentioned in the post should face it, not only to remove him permanently from society so that he can't do such a thing again, but to send a message to the other sickos out there.The simple fact that this "sicko" killed somebody despite the fact that the United States has been executing murderes quite regularly would seem to indicate that people are not getting the message. That's because killers don't consider the consequences of what they are doing. The vast majority of the time, it's an impulse. In fact, I'd argue that the death penalty increases the incidence of murder in this country as it sends the signal that sometimes it's okay to kill people. In a sick mind, something like killing a cheating wife seems "okay" to her would-be killer.

Still, I like how Doug, once again, thinks he can be the arbiter of who lives and who dies. We're supposed to use the Doug method, where if we are outraged sufficiently, then we kill the killer. However, if the killer just killed somebody's father, or brother, then that killer should not be executed based on Doug's law of emotional reactions.
Talk about being completely inconsistent. God damn.. How do you even function well enough to get through a day when your entire frame of reference is one emotional reaction after the next, where you think everyone else should think and act as you do?
It's just bizzare that Doug thinks some killers are "sicko(s)" and apparently the generic, garden variety, killer are not sick. What an inconsistent mess of a thought process you have. He's "pro-life" and "pro-death", both at the same time.
