Civility

Right wing loons like Doug like to play the "civility" card, while also saying the most uncivil things imaginable.

Example;

Today the mainstream media did little to remind us that 62 years ago, to this day, World War II officially came to an end. Of course the Left would rather us forget this date - they'd rather you not remember the successes of war. Remember, folks, war has never solved anything - aside from ending slavery, fascism, Nazism, and communism! Third Wave Dave has a great post about September 2, 1945(and a video too!), and the articles of surrender signed by the Japanese on board the USS Missouri (the Mighty MO) in Tokyo Bay.

My father was on board a ship near the Missouri and witnessed the signing. That's neither here nor there, but just a little factoid. He still has a sword taken from a Japanese officer he killed in combat, and a box full of medals, including a Silver Star and Bronze Star.

Doug, once again, is calling liberals anti-America military hating traitors. He, once again, claims that the United States Military is some sort of "conservative" instrument. He, once again, is lying and maligning millions of Americans with his ridiculous and untrue branding.

And, once again, he's a lying fuck, bereft of "Christian" principles. I think this question I asked of Loon-ette Jennifer makes the case.

Here's a question for you Jennifer... of the "shoe on the other foot variety". Suppose President Hillary Clinton ordered our military to deploy to some African nation for what you consider to be unjust reasons. Suppose they were bogged down for 6 years, and nearly 4000 were dead. You might object.. and quite heatedly so.. because you think so many fine Americans have lost their lives for bullshit reasons.. and when you object.. when you raise your voice.. we simply call you an anti-military traitor who does not support the troops...

You might get a little pissed off, wouldn't you? You'd know that you are desperately trying to support the troops by getting them the hell out of there, but we've simply labeled you a traitor. Any time you try to make an argument, or point out some evidence, or try to raise awareness of the injustice, we call you a socialist traitor that hates America, and suggest you move to another country because you are un-America by not supporting a war (any war).

Because Doug is, at his core, a very dishonest person, he conflates liberal opposition to the Iraq war as opposition to World War II. He does this for effect, in as much as it's pure propaganda. It's simply not true, yet we never glorify war as the first solution to a problem. Sometimes it's necessary, but not today. Not Iraq.

I ask, over and over, for Doug to stop doing that.. to stop lying.. but it's inherent in his character to do so. He's not so much concerned with "bearing false witness", as Christianity is merely the reassurance of his fears, because he is, quite literally, fear driven. The political movement is far more important to him, and it smells of desperation the way he keeps lying.

So, while we have these arguments, and I copy/paste Doug's (et. all) vapid and pee stained ramblings to argue against, it's worth nothing that - it's over.

I've said before and I will say it again - I agree with Bush on only a few things, but he is no true conservative.

Oh.. no you don't. There's no running away, claiming that you don't own your boy. I've warned that the next tack from the loons will be a disowning of Teh Decider.

George W. Bush is the defacto definition of "conservative". He brought you Jesus into the White House, and "faith based initiatives". He brought you massive increases in federal spending. He brought you war, and death, and destruction. He brought you Gonzales, and Rumsfeld, and Cheney (with his gay daughter no less). He brought you anti-gay Constitutional Amendments. He brought you devistated American cities.

He brought you exactly what you wanted out of a "Conservative". Fuck you for pretending otherwise.

Barry Goldwater is dead, and so is his brand of conservatism. Don't even, for one second, try and weasel out of your ownership of the movement now that the vast majority of Americans hate it.

You are the 26 percenters. You are conservatives. Grow some balls for a change, and own it.
