Teh Funny

Which sort of folds in nicely with this "joke" that Doug posted on the Loon Brigade Blog of Death.

A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan . One of the courses had a professor who was a vowed atheist and a member of the ACLU.

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, "God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes." The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop.

Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God. I'm still waiting." It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform.

The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, "What the hell is the matter with you? Why did you do that?"

The Marine calmly replied, "God was too busy today protecting America 's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid shit and act like an ass. So, He sent me."

And then Action Jesus came.. and he beat that gutless anti-military extremist liberal bastard to death.. in God's name.. Amen...

These are some truly crazy people, out there in the Land of the Loon. Notice how in Loon Land the "Marine" is always an Agent of God.. doing his work while God is "protecting" his Chosen Military.. But I find it odd that God is so sucky at it.. after all, there have been over 3000 young Americans killed by the Godless Heathens of Islamofacismterraland. If we're God's chosen people.. couldn't it have been a quick war, of say like 3 days.. and Action Jesus could have smote all the heathens and our soldiers would have been home in no time.

Oh.. and just a reminder.. The "Islamic Terrorists" say exactly the same thing about their God.

If these loons had been born in the middle east - they'd be "terrorists". They think exactly the same.

It was a freakin' joke, for God's sake. "They" think exactly different then you perceive - want the truth? Watch the video I posted today with real pictures and facts regarding our enemy.

Yes, of course it was a joke.. with a certain basis in your type of thinking.. and I responded in a sort of similar joking way, with the references to Action Jesus.

But I still think that had you been born in an Islamic nation, you'd be just as convinced about Islam as you are Christianity - with the resultant behavior we see from Islamic fundamentalists.

I'll have a look at the video.. But it's probably predictable. Some extremists do some extreme things.. but the great thing about the United States is that as a society, we generally frown on that sort of behavior.

That doesn't stop people like Eric Rudolf though..

I spent some time trying to find it.. without success, but ages ago I posted a video of an American Christian group that was training young people as "Soldiers in God's Army". They were giving weapons training and so on to kids, and indoctrinating them in the inevitability of the coming "Holy War".

Now, I'm not going to disagree with you in the slightest that a lot of Muslims are fucking insane and dangerous. That's very true. The larger point is that religion itself is dangerous, not just certain versions of it.

They claim to act in self defense. We claim to act in self defense.. meanwhile a predominately Christian nation (US) is occupying a largely Islamic nation (Iraq)... and so you might see from their perspective that hundreds of thousands that are dead as a result of the war pales in comparison to the Islamic suicide bombers.

You totally can't think from the perspective of a Muslim and imagine what they think about world events.. particularly in light of what they are being told by their religious leaders.

The same danger exists in the United States, but thankfully this is a secular society and we don't tolerate that bullshit.. so that keeps our more extreme Christians (the Falwells, and so on) in check.

My objective is to secularize the Middle East - reduce the influence of Islam - and protect secularism in the United States.. but it's clearly 2 sides of the same coin.

I really hope I made that point.. and I do it often. I totally agree that there are segements of the Muslim population that are insane and dangerous.

My solution does not involve bombing them nor occupying their lands.. because it seems to me that it wouldn't engender a lot of people to say "You blew up my house.. I see now how wrong I was! I'll convert to your religion".
