Happy Birthday... + Song of the Day

To me!

I'm very lucky to be healthy, employed, loved and know a bunch of cool people. John and I are having dinner tonight at this hip-slick-and oh so cool place called Jaspers.. where all the staff dress like Deiter..

"In your film, Irritant #4, the only two images were a baby's head and a toilet. Did you mean for me to scream?"

I'm going to start with a nice vodka martini made with Stolichnaya, dirty, served straight up.

Then a..

Salt Crusted Rock Shrimp
with Spicy Sweet Chili Sauce

appetizer, followed by the

Grilled Chicken Masa Soup

and for the entre

Hickory Grilled Black Angus Filet
with Portobello Whippers and Red Wine Butter

with a side of

Bourbon Creamed Corn

I'll have a nice glass of

Laetitia, Pinot Noir, Arroyo Grande Valley

or two, with the entree

and for desert

Butterfinger Crème Bruleè
with Homemade Butterfinger
and an Irish coffee

It'll cost more than a Guatamalan family makes in a year... mmmm...

I definitely know I'm luckier than Sen. Larry Craig (R-Tea Room)

Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) was arrested in June at a Minnesota airport by a plainclothes police officer investigating lewd conduct complaints in a men’s public restroom, according to an arrest report obtained by Roll Call Monday afternoon.

Craig’s arrest occurred just after noon on June 11 at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. On Aug. 8, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct in the Hennepin County District Court. He paid more than $500 in fines and fees, and a 10-day jail sentence was stayed. He also was given one year of probation with the court that began on Aug. 8.

A spokesman for Craig described the incident as a “he said/he said misunderstanding,” and said the office would release a fuller statement later Monday afternoon.

...

According to the incident report, Sgt. Dave Karsnia was working as a plainclothes officer on June 11 investigating civilian complaints regarding sexual activity in the men’s public restroom in which Craig was arrested.

Airport police previously had made numerous arrests in the men’s restroom of the Northstar Crossing in the Lindbergh Terminal in connection with sexual activity.
A “he said/he said misunderstanding,”? You mean like the Senator said "I need to blow my nose", and the officer heard "Can I blow you?" kind of “he said/he said misunderstanding,”?

Oh ya.. that happens all the time.. LOL

Atrios dug up this little gem of history..

MR. RUSSERT: Larry Craig, would you want the last word from the Senate be an acquittal of the president and no censure?

SEN. CRAIG: Well, I don’t know where the Senate’s going to be on that issue of an up or down vote on impeachment, but I will tell you that the Senate certainly can bring about a censure resolution and it’s a slap on the wrist. It’s a, “Bad boy, Bill Clinton. You’re a naughty boy.”

The American people already know that Bill Clinton is a bad boy, a naughtyboy.

I’m going to speak out for the citizens of my state, who in the majority think that Bill Clinton is probably even a nasty, bad, naughty boy.
"Would you like to touch my monkey? Touch him! Touch my monkey!"

Ohhhh.. a bad naughty boy indeed. It's amusing to me that so many dumbass white hypocritical gay hating Jebus loving loons turn out to be.. a weird version of gay. It's not gay, like I know gay. It's "oh God I'm going to burn in hell and I hate myself so I'm going to troll men's rooms for dick" sort of gay... which is really weird.

* Voted YES on constitutional ban of same-sex marriage. (Jun 2006)
* Voted NO on adding sexual orientation to definition of hate crimes. (Jun 2002)
* Voted NO on expanding hate crimes to include sexual orientation. (Jun 2000)
* Voted YES on prohibiting same-sex marriage. (Sep 1996)
* Voted NO on prohibiting job discrimination by sexual orientation. (Sep 1996)

Craig has a 0% rating in HRC's 2006 Congressional Scorecard.
The nice part is that a lot of them end up going to prison, which will help facilitate their innermost desires.

Meanwhile.. the filet can be cut with a fork..

"Your anger is delicious."

Happy birthday Tom.

Dinner sounds excellent, I'm going to eat really mediocre wings at a pub down the street, but hey they're only $.10 ea on Tuesdays :)

Steve.

Red Wine Butter? Bourbon Creamed Corn?

I've never been a big fan of alcohol in food though....

Oh, and were the shrimp hot or cold?

And a big LOL at "Gourmet Backyard Cuisine"! If any of that was EVER made in anyones backyard, I'd be amazed.
