Reward 20%?

I still need to write a massive post to rebut the incoherent rant from my ex-favorite right wing loon.. but there's a quick one today. Doug argues in favor of a postage stamp "honoring the Ten Commandments".

Political Correctnes strikes again, allowing the sqeaky wheel to get the grease as the government denies honoring the biblical principles it was founded upon.
He's still pushing "God" in governement. He's still completely ignoring our secular constitution as the "founding" of this nation. He's still completely ignoring the Treaty of Tripoli, as well as the Establishment Clause, as well as the intent behind that Clause as written by Thomas Jefferson, and as well ignoring Supreme Court precedent.

But hey.. lets be a bit more practical for a second. How many of the "10 Commandments" influence our laws? Lets have a look at the basis of our "founding" then (according to a religious freak that denies evolution and thinks mankind dates back 6000 years.)

Thou shalt have no other gods before me
Thou shalt not make wrongful use of the name of your God
Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy
Honor Thy Mother and Father
Thou shalt not murder
Thou shalt not commit adultery <<-- Ask Giuliani and Gingrich about that one
Thou shalt not steal
Thou shalt not bear false witness
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife
thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house.
Out of the 10, 2 made their way into our laws. Don't kill, don't steal. Duh. That's a pretty shitty argument.

Further, I challenge any bat-shit crazy person to point out to me the bible's support for a democractic form of government. After all, that is the essence of our country's "founding" and yet the bible make no mention at all.

I wish Doug would read the federalist papers. And yes.. take "In God We Trust" off the currency (added in 1958 by religious nuts). Which "biblical principles" had anything to do with our Constitution Doug?
