They're kind of fun to watch. Rudy's having serious problems with his mic. At one point it went out and you could hear some tech guy saying "not again!", or something like that.
The Beard just asked them all if they thought gays and lesbians should be allowed to serve in the military. None thought that was a good idea. It doesn't seem to matter to them that the Israelis and English have no problem with it, and have proven it works.
Romney is actually the most impressive of the bunch. Blizter asked him about his religion and reaction that some bat-shit crazy christians won't vote for him. Romney said those questions were fair and he was not going to distance himself from his church. Blitzer then should have asked him is if he was wearing his magic undies and believed God lives on planet Kolob. That would have been classic.
The candidates seem to want to pardon Scooter (30 months in the slam). They tried to convolute the issue. They complained that Fitzgerald prosecuted Libby even though he was not the "leaker". They don't seem to understand that Libby's perjury trial had nothing to do with a leak, but was in fact all about lying to the grand jury while under oath. That puts the whole system of justice at risk.
I actually hope Bush pardons him. I don't think Libby is some kind of monster. He was just an administration lacky trying to cover Darth Cheney's ass. He's probably a very decent man, and 30 months is pretty stiff.
Plus, if Bush pardons him, Bush will look even more like a tool - but at 30% approval rating, it doesn't really matter what Bush does. The vast majority of Americans dislike him anyway.
Regardless.. whoever they nominate is going to get crushed. A woman president? Wouldn't surprise me in the least.
