Quote of the Day

“…This movement is bent on our destruction. The attempts by many liberals to make peace would be humorous if the stakes were not so deadly. These dominionists hate the liberal, enlightened world formed by the Constitution, a world they blame for the debacle of their lives. They have one goal—its destruction.” - Chris Hedges, author of American Fascists: The Christian Right and the War on America
I'm pleased there is a liberal effort to fight back.. finally, against this theocratic movement to destroy our nation. Unfortunately, the loons on the right have convinced the media that it's "oppression" to ridicule any form of religion regardless how bat shit crazy it is.

There really is no way it can be argued. America is a secular nation. It always has been. It always must be.

All you have to do is visit the web sites and blogs of these loons.. such as Douglass V. Gibbs, my ex-favorite freak. It's classic. They all fall in line so perfectly as they are told. The underlying theme is one of persecution. Every single post he blames the liberals for every piece of bad news. The most recent, of course, is the 32 students killed at VT. He fits the pattern perfectly. He is so consumed by hatred and his own sense of failure that he instinctively, because he is now well trained, blames all the worlds problems on liberals.

Jesus Christ.. the loon is fixated on Alec Baldwin. He's a fucking actor you fucking moron. Jesus.

If you want the definitive definition of of mentally disordered.. just read his blog. It's a perfect microcosm of what the book describes.

Along the way we meet some of the people who live in the movement and some of those who have strayed. We visit the building of one of the new Creation Museums, where you can interact with dinosaurs (they were vegetarians until Adam and Eve sinned and also went for the ride in Noah’s Ark), and learn the truth of “God’s Word”. Elsewhere we see our old friend, Michael Medved, at the convention of the National Religious Broadcasters, helping to sell Israel as a tourist destination; he tells of his love for Christian American, apparently oblivious that most of them believe he is going to go to Hell as he is Jewish. And we meet the aging author of the Left Behind series, Timothy LaHaye, who once was an official in the John Birch Society.

Most of all Hedges explores how the Christian Right exploits the despair of many of its recruits, how it distorts truth to further its agenda, and its totalitarian worldview that mirrors Fascist and Stalinist movements of the 20th century.
The problem, of course, is that they are exceptionally motivated. They are also crazy as fuck, but they've convinced a lot of people that their craziness is truth.

Please.. never underestimate the effects to our way of life if the theocrats gain any more influence then they have now. Fight back against fundamentalist of all religious stripes... and by "fight back", I mean.. help perpetuate the truth that being out of your mind fucking crazy is something to redicule and despise.. not pity or embrace.

They chose to be fucking nuts. It's not our fault if we call them fucking nuts.
