Arizona

I was born and raised in Phoenix.. 35 years... and in all my time there, I never felt it was a very conservative place. It just seemed like most people were pretty pragmatic and sensible. Some people were religious. Some were not, and it never mattered which you were.

Arizona did two amazing things yesterday.

They sent J. D. Hayworth packing. He was an extreme authoritarian Bush worshiper. Arizona decided they don't want crazy people in Congress.

Arizona also rejected an anti-gay marriage ammendment. Most states pass them, but Arizona did not because they're tired of the right wing religious freak show trying to control people's lives. People in Arizona really don't give a shit what anybody does as long as they're just good people.

YaY!
