WASHINGTON (AFP) - Some 30 percent of Americans cannot say in what year the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks against New York's World Trade Center and the Pentagon in Washington took place, according to a poll published in the Washington Post newspaper.I'd wager my bank account that if somebody asked Chimpy the same question on the spure of the moment.. he'd take at least 10 seconds to get the answer out..
While the country is preparing to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the attacks that claimed nearly 3,000 lives and shocked the world, 95 percent of Americans questioned in the poll were able to remember the month and the day of the attacks, according to Wednesday's edition of the newspaper.
But when asked what year, 30 percent could not give a correct answer.
But hey.. it certainly makes the job market easier..

I don't know what's worse: the 30% who don't know the year, or the 5% who can't name the day/month. Seriously, how can there possibly be 5% of people who haven't heard "September 11th" over and over. It's not only the date, it's the title we've given to the attack. It's like finding 5% of people who haven't heard of Pearl Harbor. Either that, or they've heard the title "September 11th" or "9/11" but don't know that is the date? Either way...wow...
9th November??
