I'm a bitch

My allergies are killing me today.. I'm short tempered, and I'm being bombarded with emails at the place I'm often at from people being really stupid. I'm not talking about the average stupidity you would find in normal human beings that are qualified to do their jobs. I'm talking levels of stupidity that I should not have to deal with. My annoyance probably shows today, but I really don't care. They need to know they are being stupid and while I doubt that will change their behavior, at least they know I think they are stupid.

Typical response they are getting from me in email today:

"Do you have a question about this?"

It's like somebody says; "I'm testing to see if the sky is blue. It's sunny, and the cloud patch 3.5 has been installed. Thanks"

And my response is.. "what the fuck are you asking me?"

The really funny part is that they probably think I'm not smart enough to understand their email, because it made perfect sense to them when they wrote it, and their grasp of the English language is sooooo poor that somehow they believe I will know the context of what they were thinking.

And if you spend time in environments like I do, I'm quite sure you know that Americans are clearly becoming super stupid by the quality of their spelling and grammar, not to mention logical content, that you receive in email. This place I'm at has a very wide disparity in mental capability. I am in awe of a few. A whole bunch seem to have taken English lessons from Nigerian email scammers. It's that bad.

Do a simple test on those words where you spend your day time. How many people actually know how to properly use them? I'm guessing about half the adult American population knows how to use those words properly.

I'm not being elitist here. I'm merely trying to say that letting the language, and the ability to communicate effectively, sink to the levels of primates is not acceptable and should not be shrugged off as some sort of "political correctness".

Join with me in correcting people's grammar in all business correspondence, or otherwise. The polite thing to do is to ignore it. I say, correct them so they learn something and if they have any sense, they will thank you for helping them to STOP sounding like a complete fucking moron.

To top it off, the email system stops everything on my computer when it receives a new mail.. and I'm getting a mail a minute.. and when I'm trying to, say, "WRITE CODE" and it keeps stopping for 5-10 seconds at a time, sometimes longer, every minute, it's enough to make you want to just shut the whole thing off and go home.. which is probably what I should do..

I just feel shitty and combine that with people being particularly stupid, it's not a good day...

and I still can't comment on last Friday yet, but I expect that will be resolved soon.
