Still here

Have you ever had one of those realizations that no matter how fucked up the political climate, in fact how fucked up many things are, it doesn't really seem to sink in with people?

In politics, Bush is easily the worst president ever, a complete and unmitigated disaster.. but that doesn't matter. There is arguing back and forth from the right wing morons (yes, they are intellectually inferior), to the left wing impotents (yes, they are wondering wtf is going on with stupid people).

You could show a video of Bush executing a black homeless person, and he would still get that same 38% approval rating. What is rock bottom anyway? Is it 20%? 10? For any conservative, there will always be that 38% at least, because - and this is important - at least 38% of the people in this country are too stupid to think otherwise.

So, yes, Bush has hit rock bottom, and that doesn't matter. There is no political justice. There is no sense of "we were right", because we cannot get the media to ask the simple questions, and we will never - ever - change the minds of that 38%. That number is surely to grow, because they breed a hell of a lot more than the so-called "liberal elite".

So what is there left to argue?

I still read the news, and read the blogs, and one of the best, Americablog, is the same shit every day.. it's a catalogue of political horror, as if they are the photographers shooting pictures of Jews being marched to the ovens, but nobody cares. They can't get the pictures published, for the same reason the administration didn't want anyone to photograph the dead in New Orleans.

And I have said pretty much all I have to say.. there are thousands of words that I wrote here on my blog, and that is my statement. And you can sum up the state of the world thus:

Powerful and wealthy people are fucking the rest of the world to obtain more power and more wealth. The religious are mind-fucking people to obtain more power and more wealth. And - it is in the interest of those people to keep populations as ignorant as possible.

The intellectual left is a eunuch.

It does look to me like the wealthy have learned the lesson of the French Revolution. I'm not starving - on the contrary I'm doing very well. Do I want to stage a coup? Hell no. I like my Infiniti, and my house, and absurdly expensive dining experiences. I exist on the fringes of the bourgeois, as I'd expect anyone who reads my blog does. Wealth and power is tantalizingly close, but I know I'm not allowed in that club.

And those that really do have a reason to Marie Antoinette the corrupt don't have the means or ability to organize.

My sense of justice is outraged.. at least until I have a faaaabulous strawberry cheesecake for desert.
