Pull out?

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq's prime minister said Wednesday he wants U.S. troops "on their way out" as soon as his government can protect its new democracy. The top American general in the country said he hopes to begin significant withdrawal by next spring.
How nice.... the Iraqi's are telling us to piss off, and the military is planning to pull out "significant" troops next spring.

Remember when Rumsfeld said the mission in Iraq would take "years" and floated the number 12?

Remember when Chimpy said that we couldn't put a time table on withdrawal because that would let the insurgents know they just needed to "hunker down" for a short while?

Remember when big Dick Cheney said the insurgency was in it's "last throes"?

In ongoing violence, two Marines were killed by insurgent gunfire and rocket-propelled grenades in western Iraq, prompting U.S. jets to pound insurgent positions with high-tech bombs, officials said Friday. A U.S. soldier died in central Baghdad after a single-vehicle accident. The deaths brought to 11 the number of U.S. troop fatalities in Iraq this week.

Elsewhere, a suicide attacker detonated an explosives belt in a crowd of Iraqi army recruits in the town of Rabiah near the Syrian border, killing at least 25 and wounding 35, a police general said.

Officials said the attack occurred in the midst of recruits who were training in a security-controlled area and that some of the guards may have knowingly allowed the attacker to enter. The United States has placed new urgency on training Iraqi soldiers and police to assume greater security responsibilities so U.S. and other foreign troops can begin going home next year.
Last throes my ass...

Iraq is a complete and unmitigated disaster. The Iraqis don't want us there. They just want to setup their own Islamic theocracy. Their infrastructure is a mess, their oil production is a mess. Billions of dollars have been wasted or lost. Is it 1800 American service members dead yet? Thousands more injured, some missing limbs or worse. Thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians dead.. The list is endless

And for what? I'll tell you for what.. for Halliburton and the so called "military industrial complex".

Isn't that just great? Lets "pull out" in the Spring of '06. And what's going on in the fall of '06 you might ask? The mid-term fucking elections.. bastards...

Look, I'd like to get every one of those soldiers back ASAP, but if they leave Iraq in the mess it's in now, we will have accomplished nothing but death and destruction.

Well, let me revise that. We will have replaced a brutal secular dictator with an Islamic theocracy - and the possibility of a civil war. Which is the bigger danger to the United States?
