Quote of the Day

"I think it's really important for America to be able to get over to people in the Middle East what we are really like, and that freedom of religion and respect for other people's religion is a very, very important part of our country." - Laura Bush
Lets just put aside the fact that "to get over to people" could have been phrased "convey to people" much more simply. Then again, Bushies tend to get tongue tied when using big words..

Instead, lets get an update on Rev. Creighton "the Koran needs to be flushed" Lovelace. Apparently he doesn't like to be asked salient questions. BSC's tend to react with shock and horror that somebody vastly more intelligent then themselves don't kowtow.

The third guest in the past few months hung up on Alan Colmes last night in the middle of an interview during his Fox News radio show.

Last night's runaway guest was Rev. Creighton Lovelace, a North Carolina Baptist minister, who posted on his church marquis, "The Koran Needs to Be Flushed."

Rev. Lovelace has since removed the sign and began to read a written apology that was at odds with his earlier explanation to Alan (unintelligible to me) as to why he put the sign up in the first place (something to do with only the Bible being the word of God). Obviously, he has come under a lot of public scrutiny and pressure.

Alan Colmes' questioning was relentless and critical but neither harsh nor hostile. I have heard him be much tougher on other guests.

Shortly before the first break, Colmes asked a number of questions about desecrating or burning the Bible and/or the Koran. Lovelace ducked the questions.

Colmes said, "You're wriggling out of these answers because you're saying one thing about the Bible and something else about the Koran. When I asked you point blank if you would support burning the Koran, you don't want to answer the question."

Either that or the opening question after the break was too much for poor Rev. Lovelace. When the commercials ended, Colmes read some criticisms of Lovelace from other arms of the Baptist Church. Colmes added, "You're out of touch with the mainstream of your own church." Lovelace never answered. When the show tried to call him back, they got a busy signal for the rest of the hour.
I wonder if George is still yanking on horse members?

Stole the pic from John @ wildsects.. it seemed appropriate..

It's not stealing - my stuff is your stuff. I learned sharing in kindergarten while the Republican kids were hoarding all the Oreos.
