That So-Called Liberal Media

Again, polling shows that 82% of the American public opposed Congress and the President getting involved in the Schiavo matter, and the media calls the country "divided".

The media continues to call Bush "widely popular" despite the fact that most Americans think he sucks ass.

Lets poll Americans to see if we think the media sucks ass. I could hazard a guess - but the media would suggest there is a "difference of opinion".

Here are the ratings for presidents as recorded by Gallup in the March following their re-election:

Truman, 1949: 57%.

Eisenhower, 1957: 65%.

Johnson, 1965: 69%.

Nixon, 1973: 57%.

Reagan, 1985: 56%.

Clinton, 1997: 59% .

Bush, 2005: 45% .
I'm still amazed that Bush won re-election. At best, he won because of the "America at war" issue, at worst, they rigged electronic voting machines. In either case, it's going to be nice to see this country regain it's sanity, push the Christian freaks back out onto the margins where they belong, and get some sensible leadership to address the important issues - not lose their collective fucking minds over one brain dead woman.

Bush - 45, Clinton 59. In fact, Clinton besting Reagan as well. It's like Americans want to believe in Republicans, so they elect them, but when it comes to report cards, Americans give them very low marks.
