Starbucks must die

Okay, it's not like Starbucks is Wal-Mart. But, they are another corporate behemoth killing small business in communities it invades. I will admit I like some of their coffees.

Anyway, Delocator is a web site that will help you find non-Starbucks coffee shops in your zip code. Put your zip code in, and it will give you addresses.

What did it find for me?

There are 0 cafes located at 75035!

One thing to remember: Starbucks is a blue company. If I remember correctly, 100% of their political donations go Democratic. I will proudly drink my grande Carmel Macchiato!

Well, of course. How many conservatives do you know sitting in a Starbucks sipping a latte while surfing on their Apple laptop?

Starbucks just screams liberal, yet at it's core, is just another large company that is hurting small business.

I suppose it's just free markets that allow that to happen. I'm not anti-big business. I love Intel and AMD. They are huge, but they aren't hurting the small mom and pop microprocessor engineering plants.

I do like some of the Starbucks drinks, but if I can find similar in a locally owned cafe, with a hot spot, I will..

Funny thing - here in Wisconsin at least - I don't remember there being any coffee shops except The Coffee Trader in Milwaukee's fashionable east side. Now they seem to be popping all over. Kona Cafe, Caribou Coffee, all sorts of little guys jumping on the coffee bandwagon.

I normally won't spend $3 on a cup of coffee, but I do like to splurge once in a while.
