F#&%NG COWARD!!

These are the people that are fighting for Iraq?!?!

What a brave man that murders two un-armed men!

I'm surprised that he didn't shoot them in the back!

oh wait.. he did..

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - A Navy corpsman who witnessed the shooting deaths of two Iraqis during a search for a terrorist hideout testified Wednesday that he saw no cause for an officer to shoot the men in the back.

[...]

In the April 2004 incident, Pantano's unit had been ordered to search a house suspected of being a terrorist hideout. Marines stopped Hamaady Kareem and Tahah Ahmead Hanjil as they tried to drive away from the residence. Marines searched their car and found nothing of concern, he said.

Gobles said he was facing away from the car when he heard Pantano say "stop" in Arabic and in English. When he turned around, Gobles said, one of the detainees was trying to escape and Pantano fired about 30 rounds at the unarmed men.
In all seriousness, I'm not attempting to paint the actions of the American military and the Iraqi insurgents on the same level. They are not. One side it trying to secure and stabilize the region. The other is trying to destabilize it.

My point is - bad shit happens in a war, and some people wonder why on earth American's are not loved and worshiped the world over. Some people wonder how some Iraqi's can down a helicopter and shoot an unarmed man who survived the crash.

Iraqi insurgents aren't the only ones making horrible mistakes, and doing terrible things. It could very well be true that the American officer acted in good faith. Or, it may be that he just wanted to kill a couple of Iraqi's that he thought were "bad guys". I'm not in the guy's head, so I can't tell. It doesn't matter much to me either way.

But I can tell you that other people will totally believe it was a malicious attack on innocent Iraqi's, and believe they were murdered. Right or wrong - that's what some will believe. That's why the other side is as firmly convinced as ours is.
