"This Republican Party of Lincoln has become a party of theocracy," Mr. Shays said. "There are going to be repercussions from this vote. There are a number of people who feel that the government is getting involved in their personal lives in a way that scares them." - Chris Shays (R-CT)What do you know? A Republican member of Congress uses the "T" word!
I really don't know for sure how the take over happened, but still a majority of American's don't believe it's true. The Republican party has become a theocracy. The President of the United States is a crazy religious freak. There is absolutely no difference between the mullahs in Iran and the Republican party in the United States. None.
Even sane members of that party are calling it what it is. That it comes from a United States Congressman is astonishing. Expect him to be tortured, inquisition style, for speaking the truth.
American's typically don't like to believe that extremism can exist. I think that's why they have a hard time realizing that the jack boot of fascism is perilously close to stomping on all of us. I would think that a middle of the road, average person, would read my blog and think I'm being a little bit nutty. Maybe a lot nutty. I come off as unreasonably biased and unrealistic.
Well, guess what? Yesterday a Republican member of Congress said exactly the same thing I've been saying for months. The biggest danger in this country is the Christian fundamentalists who have taken over our government. They are extraordinarily dangerous.
There is only one way out of this mess, and reverse this dangerous direction. We have to get them out of office, and we have to make it clear that we reject the religious fundamentalists.
Either that or move to Canada or something.

Theocracy: government of a state by immediate divine guidance or by officials who are regarded as divinely guided.
Bush: God Speaks Through Me
It's a theocracy all right.
