Cha-ching!

So does anybody remember Bernie Kerik? He's the former NYC police commissioner that Bush nominated to head the department of homeland security. Then it was found out that he was using a Manhattan apartment donated for firefighter/police use to carry on his affair with Judith Regan - unbeknownst to Bernie's wife of course. There are other assorted twisted details that went along with that.

Just like any right wing Republican scum bag - it just keeps getting better and better.

Former Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik accepted thousands of dollars in royalties from a book published to raise money for the families of heroes killed on Sept. 11, 2001, the Daily News has learned.

Kerik contributed an 11-sentence foreword to the book of photographs, titled "In the Line of Duty," in which he praised police and firefighters who "desperately fought and struggled and bled and died in a noble effort."

"Theirs is a story beyond words; a story of bravery, fidelity and sacrifice; a story that must never be forgotten," Kerik wrote.

Kerik's royalties on the book have so far totaled $75,954.52, sources told The News.

The deal came about when Kerik was engaged in a torrid year-long affair with the book's publisher, Judith Regan, as The News revealed in December.
Holy cow. Imagine 75 grand for 11 sentences? How can I get a job where I cash in on the pain and suffering of thousands of people? I'd also like a nice loft in downtown Dallas - where I could cavort with playthings and entertain wealthy people. I'd like to get paid about $500 for each word that I write on my blog, oh.. and give me a tax break so I can put more of that into shady stock deals.. oh.. and make sure that when you re-write the bankruptcy laws, which I will surely need to use someday soon, I can setup accounts that are exempt from creditors. BUT - make sure that the poor people can do no such thing..

He took 75 grand from a book whose proceeds were to benefit the family of 9/11 victims. That's the kind of man Bush wanted as the homeland security chief.
