Day 3

Day 3 of my trip to Florida. So far, so good. A number of the people at the meeting I've worked with for over 2 years and had never met in person before. It's kind of fun to see if they look like what you envision from the voice you hear on the phone many times. They never really do.

Yesterday there was a lot of what if'ing. Quite a few pieces of the project are really complex and it's interesting when you get 20 developers together. I work with some scary smart people. It's rather humbling. Most of them have been doing this stuff a heck of a lot longer than I have.

Today is all day meetings again.

I watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban last night on my laptop. It was really terrific. I reccomend everyone see it. It's by far the best of the 3 movies so far. I'm tempted to get the next book in the series, but then I don't want to spoil the plot for the next movie.

The film has all the themes that make a movie great. Good guys, and bad guys, magic, drama, scary stuff, and fun stuff. What it doesn't have is a romance, and that's really refreshing. The acting is also top notch.

It sort of reminds me of Star Wars. You remember after seeing Star Wars you wanted to be a Jedi Knight? After seeing a Harry Potter movie, you probably want to be a wizard. How cool would that be?

There is a magical beast in the film called a hippogriff. It's the same sort of creature that's used for getting around the world in the game that I play - World of Warcraft. Really having one would be very cool.
