Idiot savant

I clicked on sports to read a bit about the upcoming super bowl, and saw this story.

LOS ANGELES - Kobe Bryant, often unstoppable, played at a higher level than even he imagined possible. The Los Angeles Lakers' star scored a phenomenal 81 points Sunday night the second-highest total in NBA history in a 122-104 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

Then I read the quotes.

"It really hasn't, like, set in for me. It's about the `W,' that's why I turned it on. It turned into something special. To sit here and say I grasp what happened, that would be lying."

What he is saying is "I'm so awesome I can't even grasp how awesome I am". LOL But I guess the day's he doesn't "turn it on", he's not really earning the hundreds of thousands of dollars he gets paid for each game.

"We are on a journey, and to put on a show like this for the fans here in L.A. is truly something special," Bryant said. "I grew up in front of these people, and now they are seeing me as an older, young man."

An "older, young man"? LOL What the fuck is an older young man?

This may sound racist, but it's really not if you think about it.. but truly, if not for basketball, a lot of the NBA millionairesrs would just be tall prisoners.
