LOS ANGELES – The NBA fined Kobe Bryant $100,000 on Wednesday for using a derogatory gay term in frustration over a referee's call.
NBA Commissioner David Stern issued a swift disciplinary ruling after the Los Angeles Lakers' five-time NBA champion guard cursed and used the homophobic slur when referee Bennie Adams called a technical foul on him during the third quarter of a victory over the San Antonio Spurs.
"Kobe Bryant's comment during last night's game was offensive and inexcusable," Stern said. "While I'm fully aware that basketball is an emotional game, such a distasteful term should never be tolerated. ... Kobe and everyone associated with the NBA know that insensitive or derogatory comments are not acceptable and have no place in our game or society."
The PC shit is just getting ridiculous. If some dumb ass nigger wants to say something stupid during a basketball game.. whatever. It's not like he should be viewed as some sort of role model because he's a freak of nature. People say shit.. it's not a big deal.
The way that perceptions of a class of people is changed is not by being hyper sensitive about language. It's about what you actually believe, and how you act. Kobe might be one rich nigger, but that doesn't mean he has to have the politically correct view on any particular social issue. If he wants to be a jackass.. more power to him.
But I guess this is an upgrade for him.. usually he's off banging bitches that aren't his wife, and sexually assaulting some other bitches. Niggers are well known for doing that you know. Calling some referee a faggot pales by comparison.
