Coburn is emerging as one of, to me, the real heroes in this battle to, yes, save the country. He believes, as I do, that risking more months and years before we make the decisions that alone can save us from the risk of default or a new depression is too big a risk. He also believes that ruling any tax hikes out of consideration is simply a bizarre ideological response.
The Bush tax cuts were premised (falsely) on a large and growing surplus. I supported them as a way to prevent all that revenue being soaked up by the feds. But they were very quickly revealed as imprudent. - Andrew Sullivan
Sully really is a jackass of the first order.. completely driven by personality and emotion. Applying the term "hero" to any politician is an absurd disservice to people who really do risk life and limb for noble causes.
He's also constantly wrong, and the excuses are endless. This time it's the Bush tax cuts. You'd think with some of these idiots, that they'd recognize being wrong at just about everything might encourage them to shut the fuck up. But no.. Sullivan really is about the money after all. That he actually gets paid is remarkable to me, but I guess the fact that I read the shit just because it's a good source of being enjoyably annoyed is justification enough. Some people actually agree with him.. the emo army.
When the vast majority of the world population are morons, it pays to be a moron.
