WASHINGTON – After weeks of hesitation and divisions among his advisers, President Barack Obama on Friday endorsed military action against Libya's Moammar Gadhafi, saying U.S. values and credibility are at stake to stop "the potential for mass murder" of innocents.
The U.S. military, which is already stretched thin by two wars and an expanding effort to assist disaster victims in Japan, would take a supporting role, Obama said, with European and Arab partners in the lead. He explicitly ruled out sending American ground forces into the North African nation.
It's become some kind of a joke. Freedom bombs will fix everything in Libya, just like they did in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The only reason he's doing that, of course, is because it helps in the re-election. It takes away one more opportunity for republicans to attack him.
The interesting thing, I suppose, will be to see if he gets Congress to declare war. It's pretty specific in the Constitution that only Congress can declare war, but for every war since World War II, that hasn't happened.. meaning.. every war since World War II has been illegal.

SANAA, Yemen – A massive demonstration against Yemen's government turned into a killing field Friday as snipers methodically fired down on protesters from rooftops and police made a wall of fire with tires and gasoline, blocking a key escape route.
At least 46 people died, including some children, in an attack that marked a new level of brutality in President Ali Abdullah Saleh's crackdown on dissent. Medical officials and witnesses said hundreds were wounded.
Which, of course, means that the US Military will soon be attacking Yemen, in violation of the Constitution.
Oh that's right.. we already have been. Freedom drones you know.
