Asshat Quote of the Day

I don't think it is too much for God to ask to be the number one thing in your life - for Him to not be brushed aside for other things that you worship. - Douglass "I fellate God constantly" Gibbs

So you know what will and will not please God? That's pretty remarkable.

I also find it very strange when people think God has an ego and expects to be "number one thing". You'd think that an omnipotent being that created this massive universe with a wave of His hand wouldn't have the exact same characteristics of the rather trivial creatures He created. I suppose he could poof new creatures into existence whenever He felt like it. I know if I were God, I'd be busy waving my hands around conjuring new things all the time and would be too busy to notice if the previous creatures I made 4 thousand years ago are still on their knees praising me or not.

Oh.. and it's not the "invisible man up in the sky".. it's "the invisible sky wizard". It has a much better ring to it that way.

So here’s a good dilemma for him. His wife and or son are dying from some horrible... but treatable illness. He has the money to provide the required care for his loved ones. But at that exact same moment the pope or whatever rocks up with a message from God.

Said religious figure head advises that God requires that identical sum of money in order to I dunno... dupe some people on the African continent into making him "the number one thing on their minds".

Does Doug cough up the cash to Darth Benedictus leaving his family for dead? Or does he drop God down a peg in mental and emotional priorities and saved the lives of his loved ones.

I’m pretty sure we all know which option it would be if it really came down to it.

That one isn't quite as simple as it might seem. Doug has claimed that he's not much beholdened to organized religion or the individuals that profess to speak for god.

In other words, if somebody told Doug that god demands something, Doug would tell them to piss off.

He thinks he has his own special relationship with god and nobody can get in the middle of that.

Now, if he went off his meds and had a halucination that god was speaking to him and told him that he had to sacrifice his grand kids, I think he'd do it.
