I guess in order for "multikulti" to fail you have to have attempted it. They treated these people like an annoying guy at a party. You invite him their for some reason and then completely ignore him once he's there. Do you know that there are third and fourth generation children born in Germany that are not German citizens? Why would I bother to learn the language of a country that only wants to use me as cheap labor?
There are immigrants, and then there are immigrants.. and I know I sound a bit Douggie on this issue.. but really... there is always a choice process involved in moving to a new nation.
Start at the beginning... why do people immigrate? The most likely explanation is that the destination promises to be better than the status quo. The mass immigration during the industrial revolution that ballooned the population of the US was a bit different than immigration today. It was fueled primarily by Europeans coming to the US as a sort of grand experiment in opportunity. It wasn't so much that England, Italy, or Germany sucked horribly as much as a chance for a young guy to carve our a more exciting and adventurous existence... so he brought his wife along and they mostly stuck together at the destination.
Today.. people immigrate because where they start sucks badly compared to where they want to finish. How many Germans do you think emigrated to.. say.. the Palestinian territories? I'm guessing none. Know why that is? Because it would suck to be there.
Does Germany make it very difficult to become a citizen if you're not born of German citizens? Isn't that question irrelevant? If you're going to Germany because you want citizenship - you know the rules going in, and you can choose to go or not. Whining about it after the fact is not allowed.
It's like taking a minimum wage job and then complaining about the pay. You know.. that's what the job pays. Don't take it if you don't want to - it's completely optional!
We have the same situation in the US. People think Mexicans are exploited economically because the US doesn't just hand out citizenship to anyone who asks.. and there is a limit on the number of green cards. If I need some lawn work done, and I drive down to Plano Day Labour and get some Mexicans to work 4 hours on my lawn for 10 bucks and a six pack of Bud, am I exploiting them? They're here illegally, choosing to be here illegally in violation of US law, and then there is some moral imperative to pay them more than market rates for their services?
That's not how market economics works. I don't walk into my bosses office and whine that I'm woefully underpaid. I agreed to the offer, and if I don't like it, I'm free to go work for somebody else.
....
Muslim immigrants in Europe.. now that's very different than Mexicans picking our fruit. The Mexicans aren't interested in changing our culture.. just adding a bit of salsa to it.
This is a gross generalisation, of course, but the Muslim immigrants in Europe are, by and large, really trying to change the culture of their host nation to fit their religious nutbaggery.
In the wave of post-industrial immigration to the US, Europeans did tend to congregate together and respect many of their national traditions. They also respected American law - even while many of them broke it with illegal gambling, drugs, prostitution, etc. They weren't trying to change the culture of American civil law, or our core Constitutional framework. They learned the English language, as a way of prospering economically. Muslims refuse to learn their host's language out of a sense of defiance.
Muslim immigrants in Europe, again as a gross generalisation, really do despise their host's culture, and thus refuse to participate in it by even learning and using the language. Muslims carve out their own districts and insist on being autonomous so they can use their own legal principles rather than those of their hosts.
Muslims in Germany are there only because where they came from sucks.. badly.. not because they respect and admire German culture. They despise German culture and seek to undermine it and destroy it. They really do.
Those are the kinds of people that I keep saying need to be rounded up.. put in transport planes, and pushed out over Iran.
It's a little different in the US. Traditionally, there have been immigrants from islamic nations that have emigrated much the same way the Europeans have. I live near some.. I work with some.
I know it sounds trite.. "I know one of them"... but I actually know quite a few. One engineer I've worked with is from the Palestinian territory.. has a thick accent and all that. He speaks excellent English because if he didn't, he wouldn't have a nice career as an engineer at an American company... and because he respects the American culture and part of that culture is the language. He adds to the American culture, rather than seeking to destroy it and replace it with his own.
The reason why Merkle's bitching about "Christian values" was bullshit is because getting along with somebody has nothing to do with religion in the sense that if everyone just keeps their personal whack-a-loonery personal.. no problems. I have no idea if my Palestinian co-worker is an islamic nutjob or not. It's just never come up, and nothing in the day to day life needs to be framed in terms of religion. Our laws, like our culture, is secular. You can be crazy if you want to be, just keep your crazy private.
Every single muslim, being hosted by a European nation, that refuses to work and participate in the betterment of their host nation needs to be booted out. Refusing to learn the language, and working in opposition to traditional law and culture does not better the nation. Boot them the fuck out.
Immigration is a choice.. not a right.. not a guarantee of anything. If they don't like it.. they can just stay where they are.. in a nation that is dysfunctional for the exact same reason that they would try and inflict on their new host.
Fuck 'em.

1. is meaningless.
2. The United States (I'm almost certain) is the only nation on the planet where you gain citizenship merely by being born on US soil. Not a single European nation does that. It's not a surprise to anyone who moves to a European nation. It doesn't matter if the path is "crazy". Everyone knows what the path is when they choose to move there... and that they stay there, they do so knowingly what the rules are.
3. Yes, if I moved to some other nation and planned to be there for a long while, I'd learn the language because it would be to my economic and social benefit. That's obvious.
4. Tell it to Theo Van Gogh.
5. is meaningless.
It is a fact that a large number of muslims are emigrating to European nations that they despise. They need to be booted out.
Those muslims that are emigrating with the intent to respect the local customs and learn the language are always welcome to do so, as long as they do it legally.
1. I'm glad you admit defeat.
2.Right, the kids that move there (and by move I mean "are born there") obviously knew before they were born that this would happen.
3. Right, it might benefit you because your a computer engineer. It doesn't neccisarily benefit the factory worker who works in a Turksih factory run by Turks and lives in a Turkish neighborhood.
4. non sequitor. What does someone being assassinated have anything to do with placing muslim immigration in a historical context?
5. Again, it's gracious of you to admit you're wrong.
Yes, large numbers of muslims are emmigrating to the EU. Yes, they may despise western culture. How is that different than the Irish immigrating to a protestant US that they despised?
And again, how do we chose who goes and who stays. You can dress it up in fancy rhetoric but ultimately someone is going to have to make criteria for who gets booted and who doesn't. Does wanting to build a minarette get you booted? Does having a wife that wears a burkha get you booted? Does going to a certain mosque get you booted? How about participation in certain groups or political parties? Make a list. You shit all over Doug for not being able to make a list for kicking people off welfare so lets see if you can make a list to not just kick people off the "govmn't teet" but to kick the back into a backward hellhole.
