We're All Doomed

Greenwald explains how and why the Democrats in Congress (and the White House) are actively working against the interest of the Americans who voted for them;

This is what the Democratic Party does; it's who they are. They're willing to feign support for anything their voters want just as long as there's no chance that they can pass it. They won control of Congress in the 2006 midterm elections by pretending they wanted to compel an end to the Iraq War and Bush surveillance and interrogation abuses because they knew they would not actually do so; and indeed, once they were given the majority, the Democratic-controlled Congress continued to fund the war without conditions, to legalize Bush's eavesdropping program, and to do nothing to stop Bush's habeas and interrogation abuses ("Gosh, what can we do? We just don't have 60 votes).

So don't give them any money. Don't vote for them (or anybody for that matter), and stop pretending that anything productive can be done in government. Turn it all over to the Republicans and let it crash and burn.

You should be spending your time making as much money as possible to hedge against the incoming disasters.

It's also worth noting, as Greenwald points out, that the "health care reform bill" still includes the "mandate" and not a "public option", even though they plan to pass it via reconciliation.

It's hard to imagine how Obama and the rest of the Democrats could be any worse.
