That's pretty funny. Tom Tancredo, wing-nut extraordinaire, starts spouting off bullshit about Medicare and the VA. Kos calls him out for draft dodging the Vietnam war. In 1969, Tancredo claimed he was too "depressed" to actually fight the wars that these assholes support. It's pretty much the same as Dick Cheney avoiding Vietnam, except that Cheney did it 5 times to Tancredo's 1.

Tancredo is lying when he says that Medicare is a "mess". It does need some tweaking, and that's mostly related to making sure it's funded properly. Medicare is a very popular and successful program.

The VA, like any large institution, has had some problems. It's not necessarily "worse" than private sector health care, and the VA is always striving to do better. I should know. I contract to the VA and I see how much effort they put into doing the right thing for the vets. They're very serious about it.

I've worked in private sector IT, and government IT, and it's pretty much the same thing. Dumb people do stupid things regardless if it's "for profit" or not.

Kos is right. The right wing wants to destroy anything that has to do with government. They want a purely Darwinian society, where everyone is on their own.

It's just hilarious that Tancredo gets his panty in a wad and storms off. He's a coward.. just like Doug.. just like Terry.. just like all of these cowardly fuckers that keep insisting that everyone else do the fighting and dying for their masturbatory glee of the violence and death.

They want to throw as much money as possible at the war machine.. but there's no money for funding basic health care for US citizens.
