Greenwald on the way the far right treated both Clinton and Obama. - Andrew Sullivan
Sullivan will never give up what he thinks "Conservatism" in the US means. He even links to Greenwald's essay, which does nothing but expose the current tea-bagging freaks as mainstream Conservatism.
Sullivan calls them "far right" because he's so personally invested in hatred of the hippies that he refuses to even acknowledge Greenwald's point. The far right is the mainstream. The Loon Brigade owns the label "Conservative" and controls the Republican party.. and I'm very pleased by that.
Or as Greenwald writes;
Nothing that the GOP is doing to Obama should be the slightest bit surprising because this is the true face of the American Right -- and that's been true for a very long time now. It didn't just become true in the last few months or in the last two years. Recent months is just the time period when the media began noticing and acknowledging what they are: a pack of crazed, primitive radicals who don't really believe in the country's core founding values and don't merely disagree with, but contest the legitimacy of, any elected political officials who aren't part of their movement. Before the last year or so, the media pretended that this was a serious, adult, substantive political movement, but it wasn't any truer then than it is now. All one has to do is review their behavior during the Clinton presidency -- to say nothing of the Bush years -- to see that none of this is remotely new. Nothing they're doing to Obama is a break from their past behavior; it's just a natural and totally predictable continuation of it.
It's impossible to deny that American Conservatives are in-fucking-sane. They've completely lost their minds.. You might think Doug (Aids was created by the government, FEMA interment camps, H1N1 created by the military) Gibbs type out-of-their-fucking-minds point of view is an aberration. It's not.
Fuck Andrew Sullivan. He really is an annoying piece of shit. He doesn't get to define American Conservatives. They do.

As a bit of American Justice;
Andrew M. Sullivan, the British author, editor, and political commentator, is one of the best-known figures in the new-media elite, and his blog, The Daily Dish, is among the most popular on the Web. But a federal judge says Sullivan did not deserve preferential treatment from prosecutors who dropped a marijuana possession charge after the journalist was recently caught smoking a joint on a federally owned beach on Cape Cod.
The justice system can be very different for you if you have a bit of money and fame.
